  52. I have ported an audio processing system, called Csound, to OS/2 and DOS from
  53. unix/NeXT. I need a small group of people to try it out for some time before 
  54. I have it uploaded to an ftp site.

  58. Csound is a sophisticated audio compiler that supports many kinds of synthesis
  59. techniques. Instruments are described in an "orchestra" file, and events in
  60. a "score" file. Csound generates a single wavetable suitable for playing on 
  61. your GUS with playfile. Csound can also read standard midi files and render
  62. the entire composition as one wavetable.
  63.  
  64. What you need: Some familiarity with sound synthesis and digital signal
  65.             processing.
  66.            A 386 or better - and preferably a math co-processor.
  67.         (Actually - a 387 is *necessary* for it to work under DOS -
  68.                   but not for OS/2)
  69.                Lots of disk space 
  70.                Time (it's complicated - but has a 190 page manual).

  105. so, when it will be available here? No-one here has heard of it as far
  106. as I can tell.

  113. can print out the compostions in standard notation. Are there any
  114. packages that will print staves from a midi file (shareware preferred,
  115. dos/windows not fussy).
